Have you ever felt exhausted, out of balance, running on empty or simply burntout? Burnout is a state of chronic stress that is characterized by a combination of exhaustion, cynicism and inefficacy, and it’s affecting professionals and the workplace at a higher frequency. Burnout has also been called a “gateway process” where chronic stress opens the door to other illnesses such as anxiety, panic attacks and a whole host of other physical illnesses.

The way you react to daily stress incidents has been shown to have long-term implications. How you deal with annoying colleagues, traffic, long lines in the store and deadlines may not matter much to your mental health in the moment, but consistent stress sensitivity and lack of recognizing early symptoms have been shown to predict future mental health outcomes – as much as 10 years after the fact.

At NAAAP Toronto's October Leadership Symposium, gain the practical every day tools to move from being overwhelmed to flourishing in your career.  Empower yourself with applied techniques to increase your resilience and reshape work to better fit your strengths, talents and interests.
