He leads Balmoral’s Chinese social marketing division, staying ahead of trends to deliver innovative solutions for clients in the multicultural market. Johnson has managed numerous successful in-language digital and social media campaigns, overseeing online media strategy, content development, creative direction, and production across a variety of platforms targeting diverse audience segments. Since 2018, he has led a team of social media specialists managing BMW Canada’s official WeChat account, and since 2023, the brand’s Xiaohongshu (RedNote) presence.
Fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English, Johnson possesses deep expertise in Chinese social media platforms such as WeChat and Xiaohongshu. He has worked with all levels of government and served blue-chip clients and leading institutions, including BMW, Samsung, Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Yorkdale Shopping Centre & Square One (Oxford Properties Group), Holt Renfrew, Government of Ontario, BMO Financial Group, Fido, Clorox, Brita, Rogers, chatr mobile, BlackBerry Asia-Pacific, and Rémy Martin.
Well-connected within Toronto’s Asian communities, Johnson has served as President of the Taiwan Entrepreneurs Society Taipei/Toronto (TESTT) since 2024.
