Dr. Yourie Kim is an HR Manager in People Analytics and Insights at OMERS. She holds a PhD in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, with research published in top journals in her field. At OMERS, she leads the employee listening portfolio, including the annual engagement survey—one of HR’s largest programs—and works closely with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven, actionable insights for senior leaders.  Outside of OMERS, Yourie is active in the Korean-Canadian community, having led programming for a major conference hosted by the Korean Canadian Scholarship Foundation (KCSF) and serving as Chair of the Leadership Committee at the Korean Professional Women’s Association (KPWA). She is passionate about empowering emerging leaders, especially from underrepresented backgrounds.
 

 

Sabine MacDonald is a highly accomplished professional with a proven track record in leadership, strategy, and organizational development. With over two decades of experience across multiple industries, Sabine has demonstrated her ability to navigate complex business environments while driving growth and innovation. She is known for her expertise in strategic planning, operational efficiency, and cultivating high-performance teams.

Her career has been marked by extensive global experience, having worked and lived in seven different countries in three continents. This international exposure has provided her with a deep understanding of diverse cultural perspectives and business practices, which she expertly integrates into her work. Her ability to navigate multicultural environments has proven invaluable in leading cross-functional teams, managing global projects, and fostering inclusive workplace cultures. Sabine’s global mindset enables her to approach challenges with a broader perspective, making her particularly adept at identifying opportunities for growth in international markets while ensuring cultural sensitivity and respect for local practices.
 

 

Jennifer Shin: Trained as a lawyer, Jennifer has spent more than 15 years exploring legal and law-adjacent roles in the regulatory sector. Jennifer has recently completed her first year as the Manager of Tribunals at the Ontario College of Teachers. The transition to leadership was much more challenging than Jennifer had expected but she is thankful for the opportunity it has provided for her to adopt a growth mindset, exercise humility, and practice self-compassion. Jennifer is also grateful to her ever-patient husband and hilarious three children for helping her keep things in perspective and being flexible in adjusting with her to this new stage in their lives.

Dr. Jean Kim is an award-winning educator, global communication strategist, and Co-Founder of LYP Training & Consulting. With over 20 years of experience, she has taught professional communication, cross-cultural leadership, and public speaking at universities across Canada, the U.S., and Korea. During her tenure as a professor at the Catholic University of Korea, she was twice honored with the Teaching Excellence Award.

Driven by a deep commitment to empowering women and equity-deserving groups, Jean has delivered leadership and communication training for global organizations including the World Bank, KPMG, and Seoul National University. In 2024, her firm LYP was selected as one of ten recipients of the BMO Celebrating Women Award, recognizing women-owned businesses advancing equity and sustainability in Canada. Fun Fact! Jean has lived in nine cities around the world, including Seoul, Hong Kong, London, New York, Honolulu, Tokyo, Paris, Vancouver, and Toronto, bringing a uniquely global perspective to her work.
